Sidewall core

A small cylindrical rock sample retrieved from the borehole wall using a specialized wireline tool after drilling has been completed. These cores provide discrete samples for detailed laboratory analysis, complementing continuous core data. They are typically 1 inch in diameter and 1 to 2 inches long.
