Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003401

A technique for obtaining small core samples from the wall of a drilled wellbore after logging operations are complete. A specialized tool, often wireline-conveyed, fires small projectiles into the formation to retrieve cylindrical plugs. These samples provide direct measurements of rock properties like porosity, permeability, and fluid saturation, complementing log data.
