Fresh core

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001585

A core sample that has been retrieved from the wellbore and preserved in a manner that minimizes alteration of its original fluid content and rock properties. This typically involves immediate sealing at the wellsite to prevent evaporation, oxidation, or contamination by drilling fluids. Analysis of fresh core provides the most accurate representation of reservoir conditions.
