Restored state core
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003135
A core whose wettability and fluid saturations have been rebuilt in the laboratory, by cleaning it, saturating it with brine and crude oil and then aging it at reservoir temperature, so that it can be tested as if it were still in the reservoir. It is used when the native state was lost or a controlled starting state is needed. Aging takes several weeks, and how well the result matches true reservoir wettability depends on the aging conditions.
