Wettability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004155
The preference of a solid surface, such as a reservoir rock, to be in contact with one fluid rather than another, in the presence of both fluids. It is quantified by the contact angle formed between the fluid-fluid interface and the solid surface. Wettability significantly influences the distribution of fluids in pore spaces and the efficiency of oil displacement during enhanced oil recovery.
