Chemical flooding
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000648
An enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method that involves injecting chemical solutions into a reservoir to improve oil displacement efficiency. These chemicals alter the interfacial tension between oil and water, modify rock wettability, or increase the viscosity of the injected fluid. Common agents include polymers, surfactants, and alkaline chemicals, often used in combination.
