Alkaline-surfactant-polymer flooding
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004224
An enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method that injects a solution containing alkali, surfactant, and polymer into a reservoir. The alkali reacts with crude oil to form natural surfactants, the injected surfactant reduces interfacial tension, and the polymer improves mobility control. This combined approach aims to mobilize and sweep residual oil more effectively than waterflooding.
