Surfactant-alternating gas
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003707
An enhanced oil recovery method that involves injecting slugs of surfactant solution alternately with slugs of gas into the reservoir. The surfactant reduces the interfacial tension between oil and water, mobilizing residual oil, while the gas provides mobility control and drives the fluids through the reservoir. This process aims to achieve higher sweep efficiency and oil recovery than either surfactant flooding or gas injection alone.
