Slug flow
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004451
A two-phase flow regime characterized by alternating pockets (slugs) of liquid and gas moving through a pipeline or wellbore. The liquid slugs typically fill the entire pipe cross-section, pushing gas bubbles ahead of them. This intermittent flow can cause pressure fluctuations and operational challenges in production systems.
