Froth flow
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001590
A vertical multiphase flow regime, also called churn flow, in which gas and liquid form a chaotic, foamy mixture and liquid surges up and down in the pipe. It appears when gas rate rises past slug flow, as the slugs break down, and before gas becomes the continuous phase in annular-mist flow. On vertical flow maps it is the transition region between slug flow and annular flow.
