Taylor bubbles
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003772
Large, bullet-shaped bubbles of gas that occupy nearly the entire cross-section of a pipe in slug flow or plug flow regimes. These bubbles are separated by slugs of liquid that may contain smaller, dispersed gas bubbles. The characteristic shape of a Taylor bubble is a hemispherical cap, a cylindrical body, and a flat or turbulent wake at its trailing end.
