Adhesion tension

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000058

The difference between the interfacial tension of a solid-liquid system and the interfacial tension of a solid-gas system, representing the force that causes a liquid to spread or adhere to a solid surface. In enhanced oil recovery, it describes the tendency of water or oil to adhere to rock surfaces, influencing wettability and fluid displacement. It is a key factor in determining the efficiency of waterflooding.
