Adjacent bed
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000059
A rock layer situated above or below the zone of interest in a wellbore. These beds can influence log readings, particularly those from resistivity and nuclear tools, due to their proximity and differing petrophysical properties. Corrections are often applied to account for their effect on measurements within the target formation.
