Additivity

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000057

A property where the total value of a characteristic for a composite system is the sum of the values for its individual components. In reservoir characterization, this concept applies to properties like pore volume or rock mass, where the total is the sum of its parts. However, properties like permeability are often not additive due to complex flow paths.
