Composite stream
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000785
A single production stream that carries several fluids at once, such as oil, gas and water. The individual phase rates cannot be read from the combined flow directly, so a separator splits it or a multiphase meter measures each phase while the mixture flows. In well testing, the composite stream entering a test separator is split into separate oil, gas and water streams for metering.
