Compositional fluid analysis
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000786
A laboratory process that determines the precise chemical makeup of a reservoir fluid sample, identifying the molar percentages of individual hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon components. The analysis separates components from methane (C1) through heavier fractions (C7+), including compounds like carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. The resulting data is used to create an equation of state (EOS) model to predict fluid behavior under changing pressure and temperature conditions.
