Gas processing plant

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004343

A facility that purifies raw natural gas by removing impurities and separates the gas stream into its component parts. The processing removes contaminants like water, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide, and separates out valuable natural gas liquids (NGLs) such as ethane, propane, and butane. The resulting pipeline-quality dry gas, primarily methane, is then transported to commercial markets, while the NGLs are sold separately.
