Rich oil

Absorption oil that has absorbed natural gas liquids (NGLs) from a gas stream in an absorption plant. This oil, now enriched with heavier hydrocarbons, is then sent to a stripping column where the NGLs are separated. The term contrasts with 'lean oil,' which is the regenerated absorption oil.
