Lean oil
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002147
A hydrocarbon liquid, typically a light oil, used in absorption processes to remove heavier hydrocarbon components from natural gas. The lean oil absorbs the desired components, becoming rich oil, which is then regenerated to recover the absorbed hydrocarbons. This process is common in natural gas processing plants.
