Separator gas

The gaseous hydrocarbon stream that separates from crude oil or condensate within a production separator. This gas is primarily composed of methane, ethane, and other light hydrocarbons, and it is collected from the top outlet of the separator vessel. Separator gas is often further processed to remove impurities and extract natural gas liquids before being sent to a pipeline or flared.
