Corkscrew hole

A borehole that exhibits a helical or spiral shape along its length, rather than being straight. This irregular geometry can be caused by drillstring vibration, bit whirl, or formation heterogeneity. A corkscrew hole can complicate logging operations, affect log quality, and increase drag on the drillstring.
