Dead oil
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000964
Crude oil that contains very little or no dissolved natural gas, resulting in a low gas-oil ratio (GOR) and reduced fluidity. This condition can occur when reservoir pressure drops significantly, allowing dissolved gas to escape, or when oil is produced at surface conditions. Dead oil has a higher viscosity and lower API gravity compared to live oil.
