Delta rho
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000990
The density correction applied to the bulk density measurement of a gamma-gamma density tool, which compensates for mudcake and tool standoff. It is derived from the difference between the long-spacing and short-spacing detector densities using the spine-and-ribs relationship, and it is recorded as a curve in grams per cubic centimeter. Corrections beyond about plus or minus 0.15 g/cm3 mean the compensation is no longer reliable, so the density reading is treated with caution.
