Mud scale

A specialized balance used to measure the density or weight of drilling fluid. It consists of a cup for the mud sample, a beam with a sliding weight, and a graduated scale. The mud scale provides a direct reading of the mud's density, expressed in pounds per gallon (ppg), specific gravity, or grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm³).
