Slurry density
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003469
The mass per unit volume of a cement slurry, a key property for well control and successful zonal isolation. It is engineered by adjusting the solid-to-water ratio and using additives like extenders to decrease density or weighting agents to increase it. Slurry density is measured with a pressurized mud balance and is typically expressed in pounds per gallon (ppg) or kilograms per cubic meter.
