Slurry
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003468
A pumpable mixture of insoluble solid particles suspended in a liquid, such as cement powder mixed with water or solids-laden drilling mud. In cementing operations, a slurry of cement, water, and additives is pumped down the casing and up the annulus to isolate zones and support the pipe. The properties of the slurry, like density and thickening time, are engineered for specific well conditions.
Mixtures of finely divided solid particles suspended in a liquid, commonly used in drilling and cementing operations. In drilling, they refer to drilling muds, while in cementing, they are cement mixtures pumped into the annulus to bond casing to the formation. The properties of slurries, such as density and viscosity, are carefully controlled for specific applications.
