Lead cement

The lower-density cement slurry pumped into the annulus first during a cementing operation, preceding the denser tail cement. It is designed to fill the larger volume of the annulus and provide zonal isolation in the upper sections of the wellbore. Lead cement often contains lightweight additives to reduce its density.
