Slurry stability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003471
The ability of a cement slurry to resist the separation of its solid particles from the mix water under downhole conditions, preventing the formation of free water or sediment. Poor stability can lead to a non-uniform cement column with weak zones and channels, compromising zonal isolation. Stability is measured in a laboratory by observing the density difference between the top and bottom of a cement column after it has set in a pressurized curing chamber.
