Pumping time
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003005
The duration for which a cement slurry remains in a fluid state, allowing it to be pumped downhole before it begins to set. This property is determined in a laboratory by subjecting a slurry sample to simulated downhole temperature and pressure conditions in a pressurized consistometer. The test ends when the slurry's consistency reaches a predetermined value, typically 70 or 100 Bearden units of consistency (Bc), indicating it is no longer pumpable.
