Bc

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004236

A dimensionless unit, abbreviated Bc, for the consistency of a cement slurry measured in a pressurized consistometer, where a paddle turns in slurry held at downhole temperature and pressure. The reading rises with the torque on the paddle as the slurry thickens. Thickening time is the time taken to reach 70 Bc, and a slurry near 100 Bc is regarded as unpumpable.
