Suspended solids
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003713
Finely divided solid particles that are dispersed and carried within a drilling fluid without dissolving. These solids, which can include drill cuttings, weighting agents, and formation clays, contribute to the fluid's density, viscosity, and filter cake properties. Excessive suspended solids can lead to increased fluid loss and wear on equipment.
