Total solids

The combined weight of all solid materials, both suspended and dissolved, present in a drilling fluid sample. This measurement includes weighting agents, clays, polymers, and drilled cuttings, indicating the overall particulate content of the mud. Total solids are determined by evaporating a filtered and unfiltered sample to dryness and weighing the residue.
