Limestone compatible scale
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002166
A pair of track scales for the density and neutron porosity curves, chosen so that the two curves lie on top of each other in clean water-filled limestone. The density scale runs from 1.95 to 2.95 g/cm3 and the neutron scale from 45 down to minus 15 porosity units, which places the limestone density of 2.71 g/cm3 at zero porosity units. Separation between the curves signals gas or a lithology other than limestone.
