Sandstone-compatible scale
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003255
A log display format where the neutron porosity and density porosity curves are scaled to overlay each other in water-filled sandstone formations. On this scale, the two curves separate in the presence of shale, gas, or non-sandstone lithologies like limestone or dolomite. A typical presentation for a liquid-filled sandstone displays both the density log from 1.9 to 2.9 g/cm3 and the neutron log from 45 to -15 porosity units across the same track.
