Sandstone porosity unit
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003254
A unit of measurement for porosity, specifically calibrated for sandstone formations, often expressed in percentage or as a fraction. This unit is used in conjunction with porosity logging tools, such as neutron and density logs, to interpret the pore volume within sandstone reservoirs. The calibration accounts for the matrix density and hydrogen index characteristic of sandstone.
