Crossplot porosity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000906
A graphical technique used to determine porosity and lithology by plotting two different porosity-sensitive log measurements against each other. Common combinations include neutron porosity versus density porosity, or sonic transit time versus density porosity. The position of data points on the crossplot indicates the rock matrix composition and the fluid type within the pore spaces, often distinguishing between sandstone, limestone, and dolomite.
