Limestone

A sedimentary rock composed primarily of calcium carbonate, mainly in the form of the mineral calcite. It forms from the accumulation of shells, coral, algal, and fecal debris, or through direct chemical precipitation from water. The classification of limestones by geologists Robert Folk and Robert Dunham is based on depositional texture and grain components.
