Limestone porosity unit
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002167
A standard unit of measurement for porosity, where the porosity value is calibrated to a limestone matrix. This means that a log reading of 10 porosity units (PU) corresponds to 10% pore space in a formation with the acoustic or density properties of pure limestone. It provides a consistent basis for comparing porosity across different lithologies.
