Hydrometer

A device used to measure the density or specific gravity of drilling fluids. It consists of a weighted, sealed glass tube with a graduated stem that floats in the fluid, with the reading taken at the liquid surface. Hydrometers are calibrated to provide readings in units such as grams per cubic centimeter or pounds per gallon.
