Shearometer

A device used to measure the shear strength or gel strength of drilling fluids, particularly for fluids with very low gel strengths. It consists of a thin, calibrated tube that is slowly lowered into the fluid, and the depth of penetration is used to calculate the shear strength. This instrument provides a quick and simple field measurement.
