Capillary tube viscometer

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000537

A device used to measure the viscosity of a fluid by observing the time it takes for a known volume of fluid to flow through a narrow tube under gravity or applied pressure. The viscosity is calculated from the flow rate, tube dimensions, and pressure drop. This method is suitable for Newtonian fluids and provides kinematic viscosity measurements.
