Slim-tube test

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003450

A laboratory experiment that measures the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) or minimum miscibility enrichment (MME) between an injected gas and crude oil. A long, narrow tube packed with reservoir rock or sand is saturated with oil, then gas is injected at a constant rate and pressure. The recovery factor at different pressures or gas compositions indicates the miscibility conditions, typically exceeding 90% oil recovery at miscibility.
