Minimum miscibility pressure

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002382

The lowest pressure at which an injected gas becomes miscible with the reservoir oil, forming a single phase and eliminating interfacial tension. Achieving this condition allows for highly efficient oil displacement by preventing the formation of residual oil saturation. This pressure is a key design parameter for miscible gas injection projects and is measured in pounds per square inch (psi) or megapascals (MPa).
