First-contact miscibility
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001429
A condition where two fluids, when brought into contact, mix completely and form a single phase immediately, without any intermediate phase behavior. In enhanced oil recovery, this is a desirable state for miscible gas injection, as it leads to the most efficient displacement of oil from the reservoir. This condition is achieved when the injected gas and reservoir oil are mutually soluble at reservoir pressure and temperature.
