Depth datum

A fixed reference point or surface from which all depths in a wellbore are measured. This can be the rotary kelly bushing (RKB), the ground level, or sea level, providing a consistent basis for depth measurements. All reported depths for geological markers, casing seats, and perforations are relative to this established datum.
