Downhole gauge

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001151

An instrument run into a wellbore to measure and record pressure and temperature data under reservoir conditions. These gauges are used during well tests, such as pressure buildup or drawdown tests, to evaluate reservoir properties like permeability and boundary conditions. Gauges can be electronic, with solid-state memory, or mechanical, recording data on a chart recorder, and are rated for specific pressure and temperature limits.
