Drainage volume

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001168

The volume of reservoir rock from which fluids flow toward a single well during production. Its size and shape are determined by reservoir properties, fluid characteristics, and the location of nearby producing wells or boundary conditions like faults. Drainage volume is calculated from pressure transient analysis and is expressed in units of cubic feet or cubic meters.
