Eccentralizer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001238
A mechanical device attached to a logging tool string to force it against one side of the wellbore. It consists of a bow spring or a rigid arm that pushes the tool into a consistent, off-center position. This positioning is required for certain pad-contact tools, such as microresistivity and formation density instruments, which must maintain firm contact with the borehole wall to acquire accurate data.
