Four-dimensional (4D) seismic data
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001545
A set of three-dimensional (3D) seismic surveys acquired over the same area at different points in time, creating a time-lapse view of a reservoir. Differences between the surveys reveal changes in fluid saturation, pressure, and temperature caused by production or injection activities. The time interval between successive 3D surveys can range from months to several years, depending on the rate of reservoir change.
