Baseline
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000288
A reference measurement or survey conducted at an initial time, against which subsequent measurements are compared to detect changes. In time-lapse seismic (4D seismic), the baseline survey is the first acquisition, and later monitor surveys are compared to it to observe changes in reservoir properties.
